watch the music video for field report’s “home (leave the lights on)”

the dissolution of deyarmond edison saw its members splinter into three distinct factions: justin vernon famously examined the boundaries of minimal, isolated folk music with bon iver, the cook brothers experimented with psychedelia in megafaun, and chris porterfield bowled straight down the middle, infusing americana into his anagrammed project.  field report’s sophomore album, marigolden, is due out via partisan records october 7th and has already been prefaced by the excellent single “home (leave the lights on).”  the song’s straight-ahead nature translates well in its new music video, which follows porterfield as he travels from place to place in an old, somewhat durable ford pickup truck.  the warm, idyllic nature of a midwestern summer is on full display, from cornfields to country homes to nighttime go-kart rides at the county fair, but yet porterfield never seems completely content until he reaches his muted final destination.  check out the video below.
